Dr. Abdel Bakey is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 1998. He earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1987. He completed a four-year Psychiatry Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by a fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. A Bakey has been serving patients throughout Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC metropolitan area since 1997, providing psychiatric care in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Dr. A Bakey worked from 2012 to 2025 with Grafton Residential Treatment Center in Berryville, Virginia, where he was part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive psychiatric care for children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral challenges especially with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disorders. He also provided outpatient psychiatric services at Northwestern Community Services in Winchester, Virginia, from 2007 to 2023, working with adult patients with a wide range of mental health concerns. In addition, Dr. A Bakey practiced part-time at Gonzales Vigilar Psychiatric Services from 2017 until joining All Hope Behavioral Health Services in May 2026.

Dr. A Bakey has many years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of patients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and developmental disorders affecting both children and adults. His clinical approach focuses on providing individualized, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs, while working collaboratively with patients and their families to support long-term mental wellness and improved quality of life.

Dr. A Bakey is available to see patients through both in-person and telehealth appointments.
